Buildzoid fik dermed ret. ASUS har nu officielt bekræftet, at visse Z690 Hero bundkort har en forkert installeret kondensator omkring hukommelsen. Dette er grunden til, at nogle brugere vil opleve en 53 debug kode, som betyder, at hukommelsen ikke bliver tracket af systemet/BIOS. Som udgangspunkt ikke et stort problem, da garantien dækker sådanne problemer, men i ekstreme tilfælde kan Hero bundkort faktisk antænde i lys lue og dermed forårsage større problemer.

Interessant nok lykkedes det YouTuberen at finde årsagen til Z690 Hero-problemerne ved se på billederne delt af brugere og ved at sammenligne dem med virkende produkter.
Fejlen er altså blevet bekræftet af ASUS, som offentliggjorde en officiel erklæring via deres Facebook-profil. Brugere bliver bedt om at kontrollere, om deres bundkort er påvirket af produktionsfejlen, ved at sammenligne deres produktkode.

“To our valued ASUS Customers, ASUS is committed to producing the highest quality products and we take every incident report from our valued customers very seriously. We have recently received incident reports regarding the ROG Maximus Z690 Hero motherboard. In our ongoing investigation, we have preliminarily identified a potential reversed memory capacitor issue in the production process from one of the production lines that may cause debug error code 53, no post, or motherboard components damage. The issue potentially affects units manufactured in 2021 with the part number 90MB18E0-MVAAY0 and serial number starting with MA, MB, or MC.

As of December 28, 2021, there have been a few incidents reported in North America.
